Micom NetRunner 75E
Integration Router
LAN Router Integrates Voice/Fax and Data
 |
The NetRunner 75E is an advanced multiprotocol LAN router that integrates LAN, legacy data and toll-free voice/fax traffic for superior branch office internetworking
Features
- Integrates LAN, voice, fax, and legacy data
traffic for substantial cost savings over private
leased lines or public frame relay
- Provides industry standard multiprotocol TCP/IP and Novell IPX routing and transparent bridging
- Incorporates ARP and SAP/RIP spoofing technology to eliminate unnecessary broadcast
traffic for efficient bandwidth utilization
- Employs automatic WAN routing of "non-routable" protocols, such as DEC LAT and NETBIOS
- Leverages self-learning operation to reduce administrative burdens and costs
- Uses high-speed, hardware-based LAN traffic compression to increase throughput
| |
- Delivers new industry leading ClearVoiceTM
technology for toll quality telephone conversations while consuming minimal WAN bandwidth
- Maintains built-in legacy data integration for cost-effective client-server migration
- Includes industry standard SNMP and Micom's NETManTM Network Management System support

Overview
The NetRunner 75E delivers the most advanced and cost-effective
solution for connecting branch offices into the corporate internetwork. Unlike traditional routers which support only LAN traffic, the 75E
also allows full integration of multimedia traffic such as voice/fax and
legacy data. The integration features are performed along with standard routing functions. These superior traffic integration features reduce overall communications costs by consolidating all communications traffic over a common link or frame relay PVC. You can cut communications costs dramatically by eliminating toll charges for all intercompany telephone
and fax calls while maintaining viable remote office data connectivity.
With Micom's EasyRouterTM technology, the 75E supports self-learning
operation to minimize administrative burdens associated with equipment relocation and deletion. And, it also deploys ARP and ARP/SAP
spoofing to eliminate unnecessary broadcast traffic for enhanced bandwidth efficiency.
The NetRunner 75E utilizes either private leased lines or public frame
relay services for cost-effective internetworking. For private leased lines, MicroBandTM ATM cell relay technology allows optimal throughput for integrated LAN, voice, fax and legacy data traffic. Using MicroBand
ATM, back-up WAN links can be configured to ensure network resiliency
and for additional bandwidth to meet peak multimedia traffic demands.
For public frame relay access, the NetRunner 75E allows integrated communications traffic to travel over a common PVC to its destination for substantial cost savings. Additional multiple physical links can be
configured to segment traffic for access to multiple public frame relay
carriers. And the 75E allows locally-attached frame relay devices,
including those that support RFC 1490 encapsulation, token ring and
SNA applications, to transparently pass traffic over the public frame
relay network.
